HB 167 This bill removes most of the requirements for consultation with local authorities and imposes rather than proposes waste management regulations. Bypasses local government and local taxpayers who must pay for and live with the waste management scheme mandated by state. SIGNED BY GOVERNOR Bill Text
HB 271 This bill is similar to SB 221.  MFMU Prefers the senate bill but either one will be an improvement. The Senate bill has been tabled   Did Not Pass Bill Text
HB 287 AN ACT OPPOSING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FEDERAL REAL ID ACT (IN MONTANA)  SIGNED BY GOVERNOR Bill Text
HB 343 This bill would fund a lawsuit against the Federal Government for not removing wolves from Endangered Species List. Good idea. Does it have a chance? Yes, if enough Montanans demand itDid Not Pass Bill Text
HB 440 This bill will allow for more lethal control of problem wolves and more tracking and public communication about wolf packs.  Did Not Pass Bill Text
HB 594 Designates the song "Montana Lullaby" as the official lullaby of Montana.
This silliness is an example of our elected representative's tendency to overlegislate in every area of our lives. Montana brochures and websites will have to be changed to reflect this idiotic notion. What a waste of time and money.
Became Law
Bill Text
HB 712 The purpose of this bill is to "reject any claim that the united nations charter has any lawful or constitutional authority in or over this state under either the charter of the united nations or the constitution of the United States." This includes UN court actions against Montana citizens.  Did Not Pass
Bill Text
HB 754 This legislation will reduce the endless litigation against natural resource and energy projects. It should be good for the economy without unduly threatening the environment.   Did Not Pass Bill Text
HJ 25 This bill opposes a "North American Union" and the SECURITY AND PROSPERITY PARTNERSHIP OF NORTH AMERICA   Became Law Bill Text
SB 78 Allows public access to streams from bridge right of way while allowing farmers to construct fences as long as they do not restrict access.  Did Not Pass Bill Text
SB 96 One of many bills that change requirements for citizen initiatives and referendums. New regs for signature collectors as well as oversight by Helena. These additional regs will make it very difficult to complete the process in the one year time frame. Suggest extending time period to 14 or 16 months.   Became Law Bill Text
SB 372 This legislation creates a hunting license lottery or auction for each of 1 wolf and 1 grizzly bear per year. An environmental organization could, if any are willing, manage the auction or lottery for 10% of receipts. Verrry Innnteresting!!!!   Became Law Bill Text
SB 423 This bill restricts the sale of new manufactured goods that contain mercury. Restrictions include pre-registering the product with Dept of Environmental Quality. Other restrictions range from a complete ban to warning notices. A simple fever thermometer could only be sold by medical prescription. The bill is pretty inclusive and would probably have many unintended consequences. Mercury is dangerous but do we need this much protection?   Did Not Pass Bill Text
