"It does not require a majority to prevail,
but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds."

Montanans For Multiple Use

MFMU was founded in 1992 by Clarence Taber and several others who shared common concerns about where the Flathead National Forest was heading.  They did not know then that these trends would soon appear all around the nation.

They were concerned about road closures and a lack of timber harvest and a general preservationist view that was becoming more dominant among forest managers.

This page contains links to several files that list the activities and accomplishments of MFMU over the years.
